Purpose of the Charitable Fund
The Canadian Bridge Federation Charitable Fund (CBFCF) was created to administer funds raised in club charity games across Canada and to ensure these funds are used exclusively to assist national and regional Canadian charities.
How the Fund Operates
The CBFCF Trustees meet once a year to choose a theme that guides annual charitable allocations. Examples of themes include:
- Organizations that make seniors’ lives better
- Organizations that help children
- Organizations that support the well-being of Canadians
Each Trustee receives an equal allocation to distribute to local charities in their zone. Trustees may also designate a portion to a national charity.
How Members Can Help
We encourage members to help identify worthy Canadian charities that meet the CBFCF guidelines. Please contact the CBF Office or the Charitable Foundation Chairperson with your suggestions.
