World Bridge Championships — Junior and Open

The 7th World Transnational Youth Championships are taking place August 7-14th in Salsamaggiore Terme, Italy. 7th World Youth Transnational Championships.
Congratulations to our Canadian players in the Youth Championships - Jacob Freeman (Under 26) and Darwin Li (Under 16) - both Gold medal winners! You can see their pictures on the podium in Thursday Bulletin. Darwin Li has won a second Gold medal in the U16 Open Teams. His partner was a 13 year old from India who he has played with for just one month! Bruce Zhu has won gold in the U26 teams beating Jacob Freeman's team in the final.
The 16th World Bridge Series will be taking place August 19th - September 3rd in Wroclaw, Poland. This is an Open event which means that anyone can enter. Canada will have teams in the Open, Mixed, and Womens' events. You can follow their progress on the WBF website: 16th World Bridge Series.

Day of Bridge Benefitting Alzheimer Societies in Canada – 2026

Day of Bridge games can be held online or at in person clubs this year. Any virtual games held on BBO June 18 and June 19 will be considered “Longest Day” games and will support the Alzheimer Society.
Clubs that have returned to face-to-face play can choose a day June 19 through June 26 to hold a Day of Bridge game. Money raised and sanction fees collected will be sent to provincial Alzheimer Societies.
Many players may want to make special donations to the Alzheimer Society and these can be done in different ways.

Erin Berry Fund Application

We are currently accepting applications for Erin Berry Fund Grants, until June 30th.
The Erin Berry Fund disburses a portion of the fund each year to assist junior players with the expenses associated with attending bridge events. To read more about the Erin Berry fund, go to our Erin Berry page.

The 2022 Canadian Bridge Championships

This year, our Championships will be played online: on RealBridge and BBO. Championship events (CNTC-A, CWTC, CSTC, CMTC) ) will be played on RealBridge and CNTC B, CNTC-C COPC and CIPC will be played on BBO. Events on RealBridge will require video and audio and will be played behind screens.
Our premiere pair events, the Canadian Open Pairs Championship (June 4 & 5) and the Canadian IMP Pairs Championship (June 11 & 12) will be played on BBO. Pairs must register on our website, as registration will not be available on BBO.
