President’s Message – September 2025

I am extremely happy to see that our Canadian Clubs and players are excited about our Maple Leaf game initiative, a way that we can build community between Canadians and with our friends in other countries. We invite you to participate in the AGM on September 16, the Fall Online Team League. And dot to forget the Canadian Team Championships, whose round robin will take place online in January and February. We welcome Lois Matton (Zone 5) and Sondra Blank (Executive Director). CBF Annual General Meeting: SEPTEMBER 16

As announced previously, the Annual General Meeting previously held during the Canadian Championships, will henceforth be held online. allowing more people to attend and participate. We invite you to attend the 2025 AGM on Tuesday, September 16, at 7:30 PM ET on Zoom.
The agenda includes the approval of amendments to the By Laws, the presentation of the reviewed financial statements, and other business of primary importance for the CBF.

Canadian Teams at the 47th World Bridge Games

The 2025 World Bridge Championships take place in Herning, Denmark, from August 20 to August 31. This championship will include the Bermuda Bowl (Open Teams), Venice Cup (Women Teams), D’Orsi Senior Trophy (Senior Teams), and Wuhan Cup (MIxed Teams).

The last few months have been a busy and productive time for our Board as we work on making positive changes. Our goal is to listen to our members, and to implement financially sound initiatives that will both help grow our membership, and help raise funds to benefit not only our International players, but our Canadian Clubs and Club players. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!. As another year comes to an end, your CBF Board of Directors would like to wish you Happy Holidays and all the best for 2025! As part of our mission, the CBF Board of Directors have been busy working hard throughout the year to reengage our members, promote bridge in Canada and provide the competitive forum required to choose the best of the best to represent Canada on the world stage. It has been a challenge, but we are listening and will continue to work tirelessly to improve and evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of our members in the post-pandemic bridge world.
The Board intends to provide periodic updates to keep you informed of various items of interest to the members.
